Sunday School Classes

          Greeley First Church of the Nazarene offers a wide variety of learning experiences through our Sunday Morning Bible Fellowship Classes (Sunday School as many still call it).  From the very young in our nursery to the various age groups of our children/s department to the ever growing and exciting youth department.  All of this coupled with a greatly diverse range of classes in our adult department means we have a place for everyone to grow and experience becoming a part of our family of believers.

         All of our classes on Sunday start at 9:00 AM and end at 10:00 AM when the entire church joins together for a time of fellowship and refreshments in our Family Activity Center. Then at 10:30 AM it’s on to our morning worship in our beautiful sanctuary with Pastor Bobby Howard.

Adults Sunday School Classes:
Senior Adults  9:00 - 10:00Teacher: Kathy Van Soset
       (A Part of our Prime Time Ministries) this class is headed up by Marlene Schram (our Prime Time Ministries Co-Leader) along with a team of great Christian teachers who rotate the teaching duties on a weekly basis.  Kathleen Van Soest (Lead teacher), Lewis Winkelman, Ila Daniels and Judy Stratton share these responsibilities and provide a relaxed time of learning from our Nazarene Quarterly student materials.  This class meets each week on Sunday morning in our Fireside classroom diagonally across from Pastor Bobby’s office.  

“A Cup Of Coffee With God”  9:00 -10:00Teacher: Larry Scrivner
       Here is a unique class started a few years ago by a group of three members to provide a learning atmosphere for any age group adults.  Larry Scrivner is our founding teacher and calls upon a variety of teaching talents from several persons to provide a relaxed but challenging class.  From the beginning of three students God has blessed this class and it has grown to an average of 40+ members with over 60 members on the roll.  Each week our class is opened by Joyce Riggs who directs us in prayer and announcements.  Joyce has a loving spirit and makes everyone feel at home. The name of the class “A Cup Of Coffee With God” was developed when the class decided to provide coffee and breakfast snacks during a time of fellowship just prior to the start of the class period.  Our relaxed atmosphere and Christ centered subject matter is a great place for “Old Comers and New Comers” alike to find great learning and fellowship and become a part of our overall church family.  Come meet our class members and class staff.  Thanks to Larry and Judy Weber for their dedication to hosting and providing refreshments and along with Larry Mullins (our Men’s Ministries Leader) for his tireless work each week in making sure our class is set up each week as we meet in our Family Activity Center

Middle Adults 9:00 - 10:00 Teachers: Konna Vierow
       A warm and friendly class designed to meet the needs of our 30 to 50 something age group is directed by Konna Vierow.  This class explores many topics and questions that arise in the everyday lives of busy families and relationships and how that relates to our spiritial lives.  This class seeks to find understanding in God's word to enrich and bless our lives and the lives of others.  Come be a part of this class and join our extended family.

College and CareerTeachers: Ladeana Desmond
        Our group of college and young career age adults is growing through the steadfast and Christ centered efforts of Dusty and Brooke Hale.  Various subject matter coupled with video curriculum offers a wide variety of learning experiences for this age group.  Well planned social activities help solidify each student’s place in the family. This class meets every Sunday in our church admin. office.  

Young Married ClassTeachers: Bonnie & Kevin Burns

        Help us grow in this extremely important new group that temporarily meets in our upstairs classroom outside the children’s department area.  This class is headed up by Bonnie and Kevin Burns a tremendous Christian couple who have a deep love and burden for the very newly wed and younger adult couples.  This class will offer a variety of subject matter classes that will be pertinent to the spiritual growth of this age group.

Children and Youth Sunday School Classes:

Mid-High (6th - 8th Grades) 9:05 - 9:55amTeacher: John Rattle
     This class meets in one of the classrooms upstairs. They have a good time discussing day to day life experiences and spend sometime playing games and relating the scriptures to life today in practical ways. The class is largly discussion about life and stories of how different characters from bible times dealt with life situations.

Senior High (9th - 12th Grades) 9:10 - 10:00Teacher: CJ Mylander
     We spend a good deal of our time talking about life today and experiences we may of had and relating to one another. Our lessons involve a few different things. All of which pertain to each other. The lessons are geared to be interactive and get students involved through disscussion and scripture readings. The lesson(s) objectives typically revolve around helping each teenager relate God in there day to day lifestyles and decision making process.

Pre-teen's 5th & 6th grades 9:00 - 10:00Teacher: 

     This class discusses experiences and challenges that we are faced with day to day, and the journey of a christian through those experiences.

2nd - 4th Grades

Kindergarten - 1st grades (early elementary)  9:00 - 10:00Teacher: 
     In this class the students are given an opportunity to learn about God through scripture and the trial and tribulations that the people experienced in the word. They do this through games, laughter, and listening.

Nursery: 8:45 - 12:00pm 

     Headed up by Janet Ellsworth our Nursery is a safe and pleasant Christ centered environment for all babies 0 - 3 years of age.  She will love your child with the love of Christ while mom’s and dad’s have a chance to attend one of our great adult bible fellowship classes and then into our morning worship time.

     For children ages 3-5 we have a great learning experience headed up by.  Special curriculum is provided for this group of children to meet their age level.
